Welcome to the Florida TARP Forum blog

Friday, March 6th, 2009

Hello from Phillips Development & Realty!  Welcome to the Florida TARP Forum blog.  We encourage you to post any questions, comments, ideas or new finding regarding TARP Funds and the Stimulus plans our government has passed and future legislature involving economic stimulus.  For those unfamiliar, PDR, along with a group of community leaders, hosted a Forum to get questions answered and to evoke awareness of the direction our economy has taken.  It also was hosted to bring awareness to banks and our elected officials the problem, concerns, and questions the community faces every day concerning this state we are in and headed.

The event was a huge success bringing over 800 members of the community with jobs ranging from lending officers to school teachers.  Small business owners were a vast majority of attendees.  These are the individuals who are taking the biggest hit in these trying times.  Layoffs and cut backs are spreading like wild fire.  With this comes people defaulting on loans and causing an excessive amount of foreclosures.

So we, PDR, turn to YOU, the public, for thoughts, questions, information, anything you can provide to bring a greater awareness to the community, its leaders, our elected officials, and the powers that be.

Some talking points that were touched on at the Forum:

What went right and what went wrong with TARP 2008?

What will Geithner plan do fir Bankers/Lenders?

What will Geithner plan do for Businesses?

What will Geithner plan do for borrowers?

How do we address the problem of mortgages?

Why are we addressinfg the symptoms of mortgage problems afnd not the remedies – which is toxic mortgagr?
