As Phillips Development & Realty LLC’s Chief Financial Officer, Jim LaMar’s focus is on providing leadership, direction, and coordination to the highly capable accounting, financial, human resources and information technology functions within the organization.
Prior to joining PDR, Jim gained valuable experience in a variety of industries. His professional business career has included working in the Small Business Services department of one of the Big Four CPA firms and two Fortune 500 companies: Hewlett-Packard Company and Cummins Inc. Subsequently, he has worked in the Tampa Bay area since the early 90’s as the Chief Financial Officer/Vice President of Finance for privately-owned firms in the distribution, real-estate development, construction, and home building industries. He also gained experience as a Sage Timberline Office accounting software consultant, implementing Timberline at several high-profile real-estate development firms in Tampa Bay and Orlando. He has been heavily involved in the leadership of the Tampa Bay Timberline Users Group and is a member of the Construction Financial Management Association.
Jim’s educational background included obtaining his Bachelor’s degree with Highest Distinction from Indiana University with a major in accounting and his MBA degree from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia.
Jim enjoys spending quality time with his wife and college-bound daughter as well as pursuing his passions of running, swimming and attending Rays, Buccaneers and Lightning games.
